More than 20 snowmobilers from Iowa ventured across the
Rockies in early June to participate in the 37th Annual
International Snowmobile Congress at Salt Lake City.
S. as well as organizations from Canada and Sweden, ISC 2005
featured guest speakers, updates from the International
Snowmobile Manufacturers Association, meetings for officers and
administrators, an awards ceremony, a groomer reception as well
as an off-site excursion to a rehearsal of the Mormon Tabernacle
Choir.
ISSA President Terry Durby was the Iowa delegate for meetings
of the American Council of Snowmobile Associations (ACSA),
while immediate ISSA Past President Jerry Kramer served as vice
chair of ACSA’s Midwest Chapter meeting. David Downing,
snowmobile program coordinator for the Iowa Department of
Natural Resources, participated in the International Association of
Snowmobile Administrators meetings and now chairs its Safety,
Sound and Legislation Committee.
Besides meetings, also available for Congress attendees were
seminars ranging from such topics as avalanche survival,
economic impact studies and club membership and retention. Next
year, ISC moves to Burlington, VT, June 7-10. For more
