Iowa Snowmobile Clubs Reminded to Submit
Charitable Activities in Timely Manner
the charitable activities of Iowa snowmobilers for 2007-08 to the
International Snowmobile Council in June due to the lack of timely
reporting from 85 percent of the recognized snowmobile clubs in the
state.
According to Charity Committee Co-Chairs Angie Sprung and Kim
Herman, only nine of the 61 ISSA clubs submitted their charity surveys
by the May 1 deadline. As a result, the committee was forced to limit
their report to $4,400, or roughly a third of the amount collected since
the ISSA convention last November.
“Remember, our fund-raising year runs from convention to convention,
so we need those reports turned in at least twice a year,” Sprung said.
“Since last November, we have received more than $12,000 in donations
for the Spina Bifida Association of Iowa, but unfortunately, we could not
report that amount based on what we had in front of us.”
