Spina Bifida
Association of Iowa
When snow conditions fail to cooperate for the ISSA's annual Winter Kids Day,
Spina Bifida families are given police-escorted rides through Huxley on UTVs.
Supporting Spina Bifida Families Since 1982
Snowmobilers in Iowa have been supporting the needs of families from the Spina Bifida
Association of Iowa (SBAIA) since 1982. As the ISSA's official charity, clubs have donated more
than $250,000 to the non-profit organization over the past 35 years.
An ISSA liaison serves on the SBAIA board, and each fall, club members participate in the SBAIA's
Walk-N-Roll fundraiser at Principal Park in Des Moines. In January, the ISSA hosts a Winter Kids
Day where families from each organization can get to know each other on a first-name basis.
Gary Lorenz of the SBAIA joins the Saylorville Dam Snowmobile Club's booth
at the 2017 Walk-N-Roll at Principal Park in Des Moines Oct. 7.
