Snowmobiling's a Healthy,
Winter Sport in Iowa
With 61 clubs grooming and maintaining more than 5,000 miles of trail,
snowmobiling is a healthy, winter recreational activity in Iowa.
Trail-riding here can take you through the hilly and often wooded terrain
of eastern Iowa to the cornfields and frozen rivers of the state's middle
section to the wide, open ditches of western Iowa.
Divided into 12 regions (see map at right), the ISSA invites you to tour
our state by sled this season. For assistance, please follow the menus
below for information on region directors, state snowmobile clubs and
trail maps.
While here, we do ask that you follow the rules of our state and help the
local snowmobiling community put its best foot forward. Click the
'Rules & Safety' link at left for more information.

At their Jan. 9 regular board meeting, ISSA Region Directors reported
“level-full” ditches of snow and grooming operations in full swing
across the state. Above, the Saylorville Dam Pisten Bully smooths the
trail west of Huxley.
